Light and Darkness

Have you heard darkness sing before?? Screaming so much the devil screams encore!!
That is the chant of confusion and temptation totalling deprivation of heavenly salvation
I'm talking about spiritual starvation
But the Son of Man is the Lord of redemption
See the devil is evil and uncivil like the weevil
He'll use you like morning cereal
So let Jesus be your Onga
Cuz Jesus is the true love formula
Your grace will grow as old as Methuselah
If you seek the devil ask Delilah
To Satan, you're just chicken meat... oh yes! A broiler!
Life is not all about the dollar
I say this cuz yuh my brother
This is love to you my sister
Go to Jesus Christ the master
And He'll clean you with his blood, the heavenly duster...

The Troublemaker (Tribute To Nelson Mandela) plus audio

Blow loud the mighty vuvuzela over the hills of Africa
Steaming hot like lava oozing out of the ancient Pangaea
Let it blast like the suddenness  of a bazooka
Let this not be a lullaby to send kids to sleep after an episode of diarrhoea
Let the ancient kings of Egypt bow to an everglowing African star
Breathe-in and wait for the echoing chants from warriors down under

Madiba!! The troublemaker!!
We shall call you the lovemaker

The African soil is soiled
Your prison cell is imprisoned
Apartheid is a part of history we will not hide
Blessed beyond measure we salute you with pleasure
Segregation has a seizure
Light these candles of memorial and democracy would smile
Africa is in love with a troublemaker

Madiba The Troublemaker
We shall call you the lovemaker

Let's observe a minute silence for the old Africa
At last on these shores an African child shouts Eureka to new Africa
Nkrumah has waited long for this union
I bet the ancestral world has laid a red carpet but like Aladdin he would fly
SSShhhh!! Listen to Soweto cry and the constellations respond.. "Oh my"
Pray for reincarnation to be true
Wish against wish… Africa is in love with a troublemaker

Madiba… The Troublemaker
You were a lovemaker

27years is a price tearfully paid for that shout of freedom
Now new slaves eulogize the leader of liberation
With an echoing ring of foreign dependence and indigenous starvation
Africa hates Africa
I pray that as these flickers of life fade away
Africa will love again
Because Africa has always been in love with a troublemaker.

This Is Awkward!!

This is awkward
She walked past me with Ronaldinho's flair
Dazzled so much, I got as excited as Rick Flair
Maybe it would be fair to not stay clear of her and introduce myself as the next Tony Blair
At the end of the day who cares??  It wouldn't burn off my hair just to speak to her
Her hair bouncing as she came near,
My heart as soft as a wasted avocado pear
Now she stares at me…
This is awkward

Her look goes on and on and I start choking on my own air
I held unto my black tie which just like me was being blown away
Suddenly the witches of Achimota sneezed my swag away like a pile of clay
My tummy rumbled… Like play like play, this is last night's food doing a replay
With immense speed my bowels made motion to my southern gateway
Now in my head, I'm singing "Lay Away Lay Away"
But oh no Sway wasn't doing the verse this time,
Now… This is awkward

Closer she comes… A smile spreads across her face
I smiled back sheepishly as she quickened her pace
With a deep breathe I said to myself, "Peace be still, peace"
"Hi" she said with an angel's voice of grace as I tightened the bowels gates
The world seemed to move in circles as I hoped against embracing this disgrace
"I recall your face" she says…
I nod like a sick goose with an uncomfortable grin sheltering my southern business
Struggling against bowel hiccups she grabs my belt
"Give me my money", she screams!!
Now this is awkward!!

The unspoken chapter of not paying for her food opens like a birthday card
My face looking as disengaged as a sick retard
She shook me harder as she disregarded my "I will pay you tomorrow!!" plea
With too much bowel movement to flee, I stay put like a blood-sucking flea
Just then I realized church was no more in session
The New Year service festivities had just commenced with a procession  into the very streets I stood
As a guest pastor, being hooked by my belt in front of the congregation was never part of my new year resolution
Now this is awkward!

Audio: Tribute To Maxwell Asumeng (T-Bagg)

This is my tribute to T-Bagg, JCR Organizing Secretary of Jean Nelson Aka Hall, University of Ghana who had a motor accident on Tuesday 8th October and passed on at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday 10th October at the Southern gate of Legon campus.

Riding on the burnt horizon is a yellow knight
Looking fierce and with the masses' might
Captain of the army, swift like a blown kite
Riding down the valley you leave us with no light
Striking our hearts like a lost fight
How do we stand out whiles we cry out
We wish we could reach out and scream out
But your walk out has burnt our candles out
Logging out whiles we awaited your return to the ring for another knock out
Our eyes are reddened because our yellow knight rode out
With teary eyes we waited for you to step out
Now, royals cry royal tears
Only Kings understand royal fears
For we wear royal hearts for a royal brother bearing royal scars
Our chest bears royal marks scribbled with golden bars
Dripping with the blood of a brother
With honour we do salute a fallen sceptre
With dirt in our hairs we reminisce an unforgotten hero
These words were written with love and pain
As we await the heavenly rain that spells your name
STANDING OUT as the royal knight with a saint's mane.
REST IN PEACE T-BAGG, we shall meet again.

The Examination

Putting on my poker-face
Throwing in the challenge like poker chips
Approaching like an ace
And messing with no joker

Breathing hard and staring at the paper
Tension breathing down my neck
All hands on deck... Why did I even sit on this desk??

Anxiety is basically a gift
Then she came to sit
Holding the examination room temperature in a fist
Apparel meant to give a fit
Concentration and obsession swimming in one bottle
My brain hit the reset button as my fingers fumbled
More like the pen crumbled with two all-night studies gallivanting in my head like a jungle

With the beauty of a Greek goddess
Her backside was a beautiful mess
I guess the opening behind her waist is no chess
Carved to send my head to recess as I hear the unattractive voice echo...
"30 minutes more!!"
Just then, my heart skipped like my back had received a splash of water-pour!!

Time flew without warning but last semester's E8 grade is still staring
My fortunes exchanged for a fashion show!!
My heart sank... My father's stern rebuke ringing in my head with surround sound!
Another year and failure-bound
The walk from the exam hall was a trip to the underground
Waiting another year to write this paper again...
Looking to the sky I pray with a broken heart, my hands stuck to my ear,
Lord... please bring a fairer lady next year!

Life Is Overrated

Life is overrated,
Like an English footballer it is overhyped...
Because children are forced to believe in big and happy endings...
Sometimes you think you'll live in space when you grow
Everything seems black and white until public hairs make them grey
We live in this bubble until it explodes at the edge of the fountain that whisks you away
Life is definitely overrated

Every young adult is obliged to drive a car...
But isn't it just another invention??
An invention to stop you from walking and allow underrated hypertension
For isn't it senseless to be in a single room and drive a Mercedes??
Isn't it plain uncomfortable wearing a suit under the blaring sun just so you'll be revered as the modern Archimedes...??
Spotting sunglasses in the night when even blind people are disgusted by that...
Even more ridiculous, good living is characterized by being fat...
Life is overrated indeed

Otherwise a lady wouldn't put plastics on her eyes just to look like a cat
Wearing 12-inch heels when all you think off is taking them off
Make-up that reminds me of the popular movie "The Mask"
Mini skirts that are so mini that you can't bend down nor sit straight which slavemaster gave you that task???
Life is so overrated...

If not, you would use your hands to eat at that wedding reception and not disturb world peace with your imperfect fork and knife skills...
Life would be about the simple things like smiling and laughing to extend life
Making that lady your wife even if she's from a different ethnic group
And live like a fruit in the bloom..
Ripe and not concerned with borrowed standards...
Smell the air and sing a blissful song wherever you get the chance cuz life is simply overrated!!

Poetry : Political Worms

This voice would echo in the streets, doper than Dre Beats
The vibration of truth kept secret, louder than Bill's gates
A story of the heartless and the highly mindless
Their transgressions are countless and they are mildly fearless
But believe me, they are the most feared
Foolishly revered by brains that are impaired
The shepherd who steals his own sheep and cries wolf
Their basic conscience gone aloof
Clothed as the league of Messiahs building evil empires
No wonder they call you "Politricians"

You are nothing but fake magicians
Conjuring tricks that make no sense
Feeding on the poor, licking your lips and smelling the incense
You begged  for my vote, now you act like a goat
Swimming in filth like a maggot
I suggest to you that you finance drug dealers
I put to you that you spend our money on "hookers"
I guess good speakers make good liars
Forget about unemployment and call us illiterates
Ignore poor health care and label us paupers
Mess with electricity  and buy a new car for young Felicity
This is an evil formality… The alpha of course - My stupidity
But trust me these chapters will unfold
The judgment of a nation is tenfold

Let the universe behold… A worm daring to be bold!

Poetry : Ungrateful People

These thoughts are a limited edition so pay attention
You wake up to the chirping birds like it's our own invention
Walking with half sleepy eyes straight to the kitchen
Biting into grilled chicken and watching the ceiling
Kissing your teeth and lying in the heat on the beach
Growing fat like a leech and wearing Gucci
Sexing for the name of it and living like dogs
Having no appreciation for the rainbow
But I bet a tsunami will make you bow
Ignoring the stars when they show
Whiles kids rot in caves since the rebels open fire in the streets
Dropping the sachet in the gutter because the street sweeper still sweeps
Sleeping on the job in the name of public service
Having the guts to chastise the instruments of justice
When we have "illegal" as our middle names
Exploiting the meek for our selfish gains
Getting high on weed and cocaine
As though  every roll drops development into your brain
It takes defeat to appreciate success
So if you are not ready to learn this lesson take a recess
Let Sudan be the lecturer and Rwanda will be the T.A
Liberia can be the Head of Department as we prepare for this damned enrollment
Sierra Leone will lead the group discussion
Before we are hit with this concussion
Every action causes a ripple so lets be careful…

Before we are tagged as an *Ungrateful* people… It's that simple.

African Woman

She brings to mind the story of creation,
An epitome of God's existence refuting evolution,
So you tell me this beauty was an ape…
With all those heart-soothing curves and shape…
Then I would believe in a superhero wearing a cape…
Her uniqueness will take you to church…
The landscape on her behind is enough for a bird to perch
The African woman's appearance commands respect
The way she walks takes the whites seven years to perfect
The compartments of her body makes the eyes move like a scared Shaggy
Her humility will make your chest pump out like Johnny Bravo
With a glowing dark skin as sweet as a foreign avocado
Stirring up your libido like a daily porno…
I appreciate the sweetness of your sexuality like chilled Kalyppo
Appreciate your colour  before you look like Michael Jackson
Don’t lose your true nature like a sold out Freemason
You are a problem… A sweet problem
We try solving this puzzle every night
No wonder  family planning is a problem
You are the reason tsunami avoids Africa
The thick lips that satisfies more than sharwarma
She is a greater addition than Madagascar
With an African woman there is always a place to touch
Her inside is sweeter than the presidential brunch

Drawn like the Ghanaian map, more than lovely to watch.

Poetry : The Unfair World

I wrote this poem when I was in Secondary School (Opoku Ware School) for a reason I can't really remember but I think its a good time to hear it.

(Unedited)

************

Life is unfair

The world is unjust
Our dreams crumpled in the dust
Our faces sought with disgust
What can we do but fast??
Is it an element of nature??
That suffering and pain be our friend??
In the narrow gutters to end
I have a desire to grow
Even when the storm blows
How can our future glow??
When the mercies and forgiveness rarely flow??
No love to be shown
No shoulder to lean on
In the world of unfriendly faces
The strong are mightier
The weak are weaker
No supporting arm to hold
No warm hand to touch
In the realistic world of no smiles
Where injustice blows his horn in the streets
A warm embrace now a cold deceit
The horror of the dawn
Our fate is thus drawn
Our miseries born.

The Ex

Down to the grave; back to the earth,
Her presence I do crave; back to another birth,
I can see the coffin being hung low,
A truly inevitable blow with the shade of a dark glow,
Like echoes of gloom and darkness that has come to bloom
Like dropping a diamond in the sea; No jolly for your pocket to see
A loss that forces a smile; a relief unexpected
For this funeral is a celebration of triumph,
The undertaker gives me joy immeasurable,
My tribute is simple; Rest In Pieces
My heart beats like a sweet jingle; Best forgotten like a bad disease
May I piss on the coffin please??
Call that Freedom and Justice,
Embrace the evil smile creeping over my face,
The death of a blaspheming whore,
She is work! Yes, just like an annoying chore!
Every smile is like going to war,
Bitter-Sweet Bitter-Sweet; she is dead to me!
She was a nightmare, a nightmare: Hell's epitome!
She served me roaches on Movenpick's plate,
I know you can't relate,
But hear this, she breathes yet still like a dead zombie…
Like a werewolf she comes alive every full moon but this is no movie…
She is a bad hangover from a bad night that started really great,
I cover the coffin with dirt enjoying my own sweat,
I'm at this funeral alone because you died to me alone,
And after this 21-gun-salute, Just know for sure...
I'll walk away like a bad comedy show.

Carnal Healing

The sweetness of honey on my lips, my tongue knows
The taste of a ripe fruit I cannot ignore
The relief of iced water travelling down the throat on a sunny day is without measure a fascinating spell of pleasure!!
Like the overwhelming feeling of diving into a pool naked just for leisure…
It's the sensation of the carnal that breaks the boundaries of taste,
For pure is the chaste who do not make love in haste,
Salute the best who open love like a treasure chest,
For they know the mind must be wet first and the heart at its softest best
For it’s a celebration of an art, a course you shouldn't miss,
The "practicals" may begin with a kiss which shouldn't be amiss
Breaking the ice with a whisper, words must be nice and cute like Casper
Eyes staring deep fueling bliss and strengthening the love viper,
You see the body is the first edition of ice creams,
You eat it as tutorials in your dreams,
The nipples will salute if you kiss the neck with the skill of a vampire,
Now that's called aroma of a good meal on fire,
They say weed can make you high, but rhythms and love can take you higher,
Carnal knowledge is never a mere exercise of carnality,
Its about feeling the heartbeat of another and making it yours,
That which causes unknown waves of pleasure flows,
So what is sweetness without the natural,
What is carnal and not mutual,
What are coated words without a meaning?
Show me which aroma is not fueled with seasoning
And tell me what is sexual but comes with no healing…??

My Guilty Pleasure

In the heart of men lies endless fantasies,
Recurrent so much they become memories,
But who are you to judge that which flows in the arteries??
The hunger of the flesh is as plain as a written text,
Hidden under the clothe like an underwear vest,
Unknown to the hypocrite; it is a treasure chest,
Because it beats in every man's chest and gives rhythmic movement to every woman's hips,
Hypocrites they are...
Denying the sweetness of sensual kiss,
Rebuking the the electrifying medicinal abilities of an affectionate touch, relying it to the backyard like an old couch,
The beauty of a woman's breast they would never vouch for,
The elegant "krochia-krochia" movement of the buttocks which entices the blood in every potent man's system,
The slender waist and untouchable hips that makes mighty men the victim,
"Oh God bless His Own creation!" *sneezes* "hee-tim!!"
I dare not speak of her beauty, "Ears are listening"
I dare not look into those perfect eyes, "Eyes are watching"
Then I most definitely can't smooch that soft body and smell her fragrance "Chai! Boko Haram!"
What more I'm I left with?
Tney say I speak the unspeakable and write the forbidden,
But why keep the sweet hidden??
It has never been complex, "So I beg, Make you no vex"
But who doesn't talk about sex!?

My Blog

I have noticed that contrary to the ideology behind my initial creation of this blog, I have subjected myself to the writing of entertainment stories. Therefore I have decided to prioritize poetry on this blog which I can most definitely do on a more consistent basis.
Poetry is a passion and I am sure poetry lovers and others as well would appreciate it.

I however cannot deny my love for the entertainment industry, especially the music and movie industry and therefore would post entertainment news occasionally.

Kim Khardsian Wants To Call Baby "Easton West"!!

Reality TV Star, Kim Khardasian who recently paid a visit to the West African country of Nigeria has played down rumours that her and Kanye's baby will be named "North". The American sweetheart who has been married twice has stated that the name "North" is not on "their" list of likely names.

She however seemed to prefer the name "Easton" . In her own words she said...

''That is not true. That is not one of the names on our list. But you know what name I do like? But it probably won't be on [the list]. 'Cause it kinda goes with North, I like Easton. Easton West. I think that's cute.''

Kim was speaking on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night (28.03.13) and when question whether she was expecting a boy she said...

''Boys names are good for girls. We have a list and some of them are 'K' names some of them aren't.''

She also added she had a hard time telling her sister Khloe Khardasian about the pregnancy.

''I had Kourtney come with me to tell Khloe 'cause I was a little nervous.
''Because I know she really really really wants a baby. So I felt like I'm gonna need some moral support to tell her. And she was so happy! But I was really nervous to tell her. And she kind of got mad that I was nervous, [she] thought it was ridiculous.''

Lil' Wayne Speaks Up About His Health

The multi-award winning American rapper Michael Dwayne Carter Jr has in recent times being in the news for all the health-related reasons. Reports of various episodes of seizures have been in the media up to the point of a near death experience.
Lil' Wayne therefore took to Power 106, a radio station in the United States to tell his fans what is going on with him where he revealed he was suffering from epilepsy.
This is what he said,

"This wasn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh... I have had a bunch of seizures, you just never hear about them."

He continued to say...

"This time it got real bad 'cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 per cent. Basically, I could've died, so that is why it was so serious. Certain times I don't even go to the hospital, but this time, it was real bad because it was three in a row, and I've never had three back to back like that."

Lil Tunechi blames the recent occurrences on his tight schedule and lack of rest...

"The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That's just typical me though."
Lil Wayne plans on going on tour with T.I. and Future this summer. The North American "America's Most Wanted" tour begins July 9 in Pelham, Ala. and ends Sept. 1 in Irvine, Calif.

Lil' Wayne's first public appearance since being released from hospital after suffering from a seizure by attending the 2013 Tampa Pro skateboarding competition in Florida

Video: Okyeame Kwame - Woara ft Raquel

It is obvious that this is one of the best things that happened in 2012. The song which can be found on Okyeame Kwame's album "Mr Versatile" is one which tells the tale of a tragic love.
He features Raquel on this one and in my own words,
"... it's a complete masterpiece from a master of the art."

Living up to his reputation as the best lyricist in the game which is only typical of an "Okyeame" which means a "linguist".

Poetry : The Black Star Tragedy

Kindergarten taught me the National Anthem
And my right hand has been feeling my left breast every time I heard my teachers say "The Pledge"
So it was only natural that I miss that lecture, run to the TV room and just "wedge"…
The heat in the room just painted a picture perfect Daniel-Shadrack-Meshack-Abednego representation of what I was taught in Bible School
It made me wonder if it was a taboo to bath to avoid this pool of sweat…
I could swear 90minutes under this temperature was either illegal or could bake a full bread
But somehow the patriotism of the anthem sent chills of goosebumps through my body, pardoning the unbearable heat..
If you were outside, you would think it was the smell of an unsual type of bushmeat
These Burkinabes were particularly unromantic in sight
I couldn’t get used to Bance's face with all my might
And it became obvious he had the same frightening effect on our defenders…
Vorsah tried all he could to match his terror  by dying his hair yellow…
But it a bitter pill that even Macaulay Culkin couldn’t swallow
I pity my fingers now because I chewed all the nails that decorated it…
Wakaso gave us something to smile about whiles Bance made them dance…
Asamoah Gyan oh Asamoah Gyan… His name is enough to express my pain but I thought the wise said, "No Pain No Gain"
With the referee being just a confused catalyst
But alas! It was "Yahy3 y3n" part 3&4
I wonder where Keche were when it was time for "Sokod3"
For we become the "bayla" in Burkina's trap
It was unbelievable when the referee said it’s a wrap
But I guess Naija was lucky to miss us…
They were scared as ever…
Because no matter when we bow out, its GH now and forever.
We are Champions and the world will remember us forever.

The State Of The Nation

It was barely a month ago when our thoughts actually mattered...
It is hardly weeks ago when they came to our neighbourhoods bearing gifts,
But our streets are empty again,
Back into hiding again,
Back to the rolled up car windows and the bodyguard syndrome..
No more concerned with our teardrops...
They deceived us with their catchy chants...
Screaming "Edey bee k3k3" whilst school fees chokes us k3k3!
Chanting "All die be die" when there is no inheritance for your family...
Now you turn to Prophet One, Two and Three because your MP didn't respond to your call number one, two and three...
Into the consoling arms of religion,
And continue down the path of desperation...
For they both ask for collection and votes in the market,
But they don't market their profits in your pockets,
Their lives are just opium for the masses...
Now they can't see you like they need glasses...
They cut you low like green grasses..
This is the State of the Nation,
It's more than an invasion,
There's is no time for retribution,
But religion is in the heart and politics in the mind...
Develop your skills like a country...
And love God like you are religion itself...
Before your soul is misspelt...
